This fiction based story is about a high-spirited and curious little girl with an amazing imagination, big dreams and the hair to match.  While discovering who she is and facing bullies at school her eyes land on a very special neighbor who shows her new possibilities.  Through a tough conversation Ava will learn that having unconventional hair does not stop you from achieving any career you choose and that beauty radiates from inside out.

This book seeks to break down the unspoken and spoken occupational standard that hair has to look a certain way to be employed.
